HIGH water table?

YUP - 41 mtr. above sea level and about 1 mile from the sea.
S in Law got a standard Rose as a birthday present a year or several ago. As I planted it I thought ... 
"This isn't clay soil, it's clay; I could probably make pots from it."
Today it was replaced by a potted one. I carried it off to see if it's recoverable, just "for fun".
I'll show you the "Before" tomorrow, but for now, here's an attempt to show the "Water Table."
