Evening shot

Today the sun shone - again and it was warm and sunny.

2 colleagues were up from London so I spent most of the day with Richard, Commercial and Fundraising Director. Many questions, many answers. I got out in the sunshine to walk up to the Grassmarket and the St Columba's. It was fantastic to be out in the sunshine in the middle of the day. Then of course we had to fight our way back down the Royal Mile through the grounds and through, sometimes over, the street performers. It's still bedlam out there.

At the end of the afternoon it was our 'meet and greet'. N was fantastic setting it all up and doing the food. We miscalculated the drinks though - very abstemious. We sat around afterwards and just chatted for a while. Then of course we had to clear up.

It was great to walk back up the road on such a warm evening - what a contrast to Monday.

Molly and I are in to the rhythm of the Tattoo. Mon - Fri the jet (phantom?) screams up the Royal Mile to get the whole thing started. 10.25 the fireworks go off. I can just see them over the rooftops across the road. 15 minutes later the last big bang signals the end. Saturdays it happens twice , fireworks at 9 and midnight. Peace and quiet on Sundays. Think this may be my emergency blip for the next few weeks. Molly never flinches.
