Pont d'Espagne

On one of the most beautiful footpaths to Spain this bridge spans the joining of three crystal clear rivers at 1500m.  We took the cable car from the car park and watched as the ski lifts carried their passengers higher to the beautiful blue Lac de Gaube reflecting the glacier the feeds it from the far end of the lake.  We chose a delightful cool spot for our picnic lunch as we found some tree trunks and rocks at just the right height for sitting!  The valley is littered with wonderful waterfalls and we were lucky enough to find some parking places on a 30 degree Sunday afternoon!
We have managed to backblip a couple of days and intend to have a day or two resting before moving on to our next site.  Although, if the weather holds we may be tempted to stay longer !
