Le Puy

As resolved yersterday, Tricia and I went off for the day. Le Puy ended up as our destination and this is a city of the city from the north. Climbed up the Virgin in the image -indeed climbed right up inside the statue to the top - a statue made from Russian canons melted down after their losing the Battle of Sebastapol. Some canons escaped the crucible and are still there bearing the Russian coat of arms in one of the extra photos.
The route back was mountainous taking in one of my favourite villages not far from us, Borne. With a Church, a Castle, an eponymous river and not much else,  it occupies a spectacular position on the edge of the massif.as you can see in the extra photos.
Back then to the house full of people without water or internet.... The early supper got more and more complicated and we ended up eating after 11!
