Mortar and pestle

I have been meaning to buy one of these for a while and so I finally gave in and bought this small marble version.  On Saturday I tried to crush some cardamom seeds in a cup for a new recipe I was trying out and the seeds kept flying all over the place, so I hope this works better.  I am not a tidy cook, so anything that helps me become more efficient and organised is a good thing.
