Blow

So I had the morning off from studies to go for the final bit of root canal treatment at the dentist's. And there were a few unusual bits in the proceedings including some clamps, summat that had to be hooked onto my lip for some reason while a machine went bleep, some kind of mask over my mouth for most of it as well but I didn't really mind all this stuff because I've always been a fan of David Cronenberg films and I'm not squeamish and am genuinely interested in the 'process' of it all and when they ie doctors/dentists/other medical professionals say things like '"You might not want to watch this" I always have a look to see what they're doing to me.

However, near the end of treatment this morning when she said to me "I'm now going to have to put a hot instrument in your mouth for a minute to melt the sealant" I went from the mildly curious to the slightly unnerved. And then when I turned my head and saw her heating up what looked like a metal pin with a blowtorch I distinctly remember thinking, "I wonder how this is all going to pan out then?" and also "This is getting a bit weird". No worries, there was a bit of a burning smell and some smoking as hot pin hit sealant but all in all...
