Riverside

I have been ensconced in the same room all day, and having to concentrate on proceedings. It lies on the Manchester side of the Irwell, in the distance in this shot,  with a fine view of a block of apartments opposite on the Salford side. All very serious stuff, so rather curious watching a chap on a balcony opposite watering his plants wearing not a great deal.

I was let out lunchtime and had a bite to eat at the People's History Museum before walking back along the river. Lots of people out enjoying the sunshine.

All a real contrast to this evening. Coming out of choir practice it was all going pop - black skies, heavy rain, lightning and thunder. The tram system at a standstill after two substations took lightning strikes, and flooding in the city centre. We know how to have a hot day in these parts.
