Cephalonia Sunrise & The Alps

We were up at 6.30am to get our early morning flight from Cephalonia airport back to Manchester. One of the benefits of getting up early is that you are often rewarded with seeing sunrise, and we had a lovely last view of Cephalonia from near Chionata as we drove to the airport (see extra).

The flight was a bit late taking off, but it was a very pleasant day time flight, and the views on the 3hr 20 minute journey were mainly good with the ocassional dark clouds. The view I like best is passing over the Swiss Alps, which the main blip photo shows.

It was sunny and hot on landing at Manchester but as we drove south through the midlands we witnessed thunder and lightning. On the news it seems different parts of the UK had totally contrasting weather. A welcome back for us!
