Portrait of a Tabby

First, thank you for the kind comments on yesterday's blip. My father did indeed come home from the hospital two days later, as the doctors promised, and he appears to be doing quite well in his recovery. He is very glad to be home and my mother is very glad to have him home.

A love story like theirs - 62 years of happy marriage - is quite rare and does not come along every day; and so I wanted to share it with all of you. I hope the story is an inspiration and a blessing to all who read it, as their loving relationship has been to me all my life.

It's been a little while since I posted a picture of Dexter the Tabby, so I thought it might be time for one. I had just been outside first thing in the morning photographing the sunrise (again! - this first humid week of August has provided some truly amazing sunrises!), and I walked back through the front door to find Dexter waiting for me at the top of the steps. He almost looked a little startled at the time. I had a camera in my hand and snapped a few pictures.
