Finally the rain came

After yesterday's forest fire drama, the first rain for three months finally fell today.  It was not torrential, but steady all day long.  At about 2pm, the pompiers took down their radio mast, packed up the mobile canteen and withdrew their fire tenders and water tankers.  The rain is taking care of the rest.  And so, what to do on a rainy day?  N cleaned the house from top to bottom. I tackled the office/study (two desks and a filing cabinet that rub shoulders with bunk beds in the spare bedroom!) and sorted papers that have been crying out for months to be filed or shredded.  At last, I can see the desks again!  Now, I have to say that we can't be doing with much more of this rain, it's been 12 hours already.  It is due to stop around lunchtime tomorrow and that will be long enough thank you very much.
