DENTISTS
Morrisons this morning with my friend Jan. Home via the greengrocers in the village where Jan bought two large box trees in pots. We each carried one back to the car.
I went to the dentist this afternoon - just for a check up and to see the hygienist. Everything was fine. On Saturday a team of dentists, nurses and receptionists will embark on this years Charity Challenge to scale the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. The 3 Peaks Challenge takes on the tallest peaks of Yorkshire; Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - 24 miles to be completed completed in under 12 hours, including 5200ft of ascent. The charity to benefit will be Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care which provides a free transport service to and from the Freeman/RVI Hospitals in Newcastle for outpatients undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy treatment – some from as far afield as the Scottish Borders, North Yorkshire and West Cumbria. The team do a charity challenge every year - usually a bike ride. I have made a donation online.
By blip shot shows the team of dentists - their faces beaming from a large billboard outside the building. My own dentist is at the back on the right. He is a lovely man. We discussed football today - he supports Preston North End. Also in The Championship - but not doing as well as Newcastle United.
Didn't do much for the rest of the day. Feeling a bit weary after my energetic gardening yesterday I think. Becky phoned on her way home from work. Lovely to hear from her and catch up with news. We spoke for 1½ hrs.
