Old and New Reflections

Trip to Manchester to attend a conference. Well, we started by having a good look at the Science and Industry Museum. I hadn't been before and must say I am very impressed. Loved the steam engines some of which were running using steam. They are surprisingly quiet. We did get a demonstration of the machines on a cotton mill. They were not quiet and looked very dangerous. Quite interesting to contrast the social aspects with New Lanark. The other galleries were fabulous too.

When the museum closed we wandered along the canal for a while and ended up in some Mexican chain for dinner. Tram back. Getting ready for tomorrow.
