Juveniles

My new Christmas rose
wearing one droopy bloom
makes room for a
half-clothed blackbird.

He's almost prepared
for fully-fledged flowering
as he claims his share
of a showering of seeds.

I hope you can see the Christmas rose flowerhead peeping over the bird's head. Extra shows another juvenile, this one's brother, with a few more black feathers.
