Asa's Rose

Today my college friends and I had lunch with our friend Asa's daughter. Asa is our dear friend who died suddenly in May. We knew Miranda as a little girl so it was lovely to meet a young woman with children of her own.

I also found out that it was Asa who chose the rose tree that my college friends gave us as a wedding present when Jack and I got married in 2013. It is planted close to our house and as you can see it has bloomed profusely this year...long may that continue!
