You do what you can
Second from the right: What's up with her?
Fifth from the right: She's practising for The Flying Seagulls.
Sftr: But she's a jackdaw, not a gull!!
Fftr: Yes but she thought it was such a brilliant project she wanted to join anyway.
This blip is dedicated to a young friend of mine who will shortly be joining The Flying Seagull Project, a group of young clowns and performers who entertain people in difficult circumstances in order to bring some fun and laughter into their lives. She will be going to work with refugees in Calais and Lesbos, in particular the children who have been through and are still living with fear, loss, privation and uncertainty. They need as much diversion as they can get and the Flying Seagulls have the ability to provide it. Although my friend has no circus skills (yet!) she can speak Syrian Arabic and will be invaluable as a communicator and translator. I'm proud she's chosen to take up this challenge and want to wish her well.
