Lake District - Castlerigg Stone Circle

Day two of our four day stay in the Lake District. Our dawn patrol session was at Castlerigg Stone Circle. Even though we were there an hour before sunrise, we were not the first! Right in the middle of the circle, a couple was sleeping in their sleeping bag. Rather odd we thought, because it had been raining the hour before we arrived... Maybe our flashlight woke them up, but in any case they were gone soon after we arrived.

We had to wait for the clouds to part, but in the end there was some gorgeous light on the hills. A quick change of location to have that as our backdrop and there we are!

Edit: I have added some more images. Later in the day, we went to Side Pike and Blea Tarn. Great light all day long, so lots of beautiful shots! The walk to Side Pike was a difficult one, but it was so worth it.
