Pythagorion Harbour

We arrived in Samos at lunchtime after the sort of landing that prompts spontaneous applause from relieved passengers, the close proximity of the hills to the airport requiring a rapid and dramatic turn on the final approach then a heavy (collective!) foot on the brakes with engines thrust into reverse.

After a restorative visit to the bar at our very pleasant and friendly apartments it was a dip in the pool and a stroll to the nearest supermarket for essentials (gin, tonic, water, coffee, in that order!).

We wandered down into Pythagorian (named after the mathematician and philosopher, who was a local) for dinner by the harbour where we ate a mixed grill for two that could comfortably have fed two more.

We were glad of a stroll around the harbour(when I took this) and the 20 minute walk back after that.
