Blipmeet at the YSP

Well two of us are Blippers and we've all been friends for a long time. Our photo was taken by a young woman who was passing by.

It was great to see Guiri and F again - it's a year since they were last in the UK and I think it's our turn to go and see them next.

We had Guiri's birthday to celebrate and a beautiful day for our visit. So sun, interesting art and friends - what else can anyone ask for?

The only negative was trying to cope with the new payment for parking system they've introduced at the Sculpture Park which was proving so complicated for people and meant the queue wanting to pay kept growing. You can't help but think that a person collecting the fee on entrance to the park would be far more cost effective - I wonder how much this sophisticated car number recognition set-up has cost to install!

I shouldn't end on a negative note - the other lovely thing from the day was meeting up with someone I used to work with - she's now doing two days a week as a warden/steward in the park and really enjoying it. She helped us get the car-parking payment machine cracked!
