Lady With Flowers

Visited a community walled garden today in the village where I live.  It's been a beautiful early autumn day.  The garden plants are just starting to slightly fade in the garden but they still looked good.  I was quite taken with this lady adorned with flowers tucked away in a shady spot.

Volunteers have worked very hard and have brought the garden back to life for locals to enjoy.  There are many interesting nooks and crannies in the garden along with a nice cafe to sit and have a cuppa. 

The reason I went today was that there was a social history talk on.  A local historian had brought many objects along that we no longer see or use  - carpet beaters, stone hot water bottle, poss tub, etc.  It was really interesting and we were all joining in with  our memories of days gone by.

I've just had a phone call to say that I have won a clock and a bottle of wine in a raffle that was being held in the garden.
