Cow crossing

At 9am today we managed to stop all the traffic on the road for around 20 minutes whilst we moved the cows from one field to the other. Thankfully they were all very well behaved (except for lots of stopping to eat the grass/trees/any plants by the side of the road) and we just had to guide them rather than chase them.

It's surprising how many cars don't feel like they can wait and try to get past. It usually results in either the cars getting damaged or the cows panicking and running off - which just means that the road is blocked for even longer! Thankfully we had a tractor to block one way and lots of people to block the other. Most of the drivers seemed excited to be watching though - especially the 30+ cyclists!
