Rodents rule

Long time no blip - I got busy, I ran behind, and then there were too many days to sort out. I have a heck of a lot of backblips. But I won't think of those just now. I'm starting again with today and then I'll attempt to get back into the groove.

Here is Juno, helping me work. Quite a few of those backblips feature this adorable chap, who is now five months' old.

Fred's away for a couple of weeks so I'm home alone with Juno and Panda. Breakfast was followed by a game of Grey Mouse in the vegetable delivery box (we won't return this box to the vegetable deliverers in case someone complains of cat hairs on their onions when it's re-used). The box is fabulous because it has holes through which Grey Mouse can be tantalisingly glimpsed (see extra photo for Juno in Grey Mouse 'play' position, though I had to take the box off the one underneath because it shifted with every pounce until there was a cat-a-lanche).

Fred texted a picture of his bicycle and a cup of tea by the River Clyde. The weather looks much better than in West Norwood. He was killing time between alighting the Caledonian Sleeper and catching the Oban train by cycling to the a station further up the line via Helensburgh, as you do when there's far better scenery than Glasgow Queen Street just a ride away.

Juno headed out to look at squirrels and I finished reading Slade House, which was a real luxury (reading for a few hours). I started another book, but Juno returned for Round 2 of Grey Mouse and that put pay to that. Really, I ought to have ventured outside for Open House Weekend, but I didn't fancy heading into the city and I've visited the places nearby on previous years. Maybe tomorrow... Instead, I had a quick wander to the pet shop and bought another Grey Mouse, just in case we 'lose' the three we have (this has happened – I haven't found Juno's secret stash, where he places them in the middle of the night and they can be absent for days).

Back home, and I've completed some work and watched Rabbit Hole while drinking a copious amount of tea and eating just two custard-filled doughnuts.

Happy Weekend!
