The Remains...
What is going on in the photo? I went to the creek last weekend to look for some ancient pieces of an old civil war railroad track and stumbled upon what I was looking for. It was the supports for the railroad track that had been eroded over time. While I was there in the woods I found many old trenches from the war. It was cool to see all of the old stone supports that had been altered over time. There were tree's and thorn bushes everywhere as there would be in the woods. I found it cool to go outside and climb up the stone supports of where the track used to be. It was quite the adventure even though it was about two blocks from my house.
How is it related to a specific human geography concept from the current unit or previous units? I can relate my picture to a map that is on a trail near my house. Since we are studying maps, I felt this was relevant. The trail is where the old railroad system used to be. In some of my extra photos you can understand my reasoning better.
Link the image to one of the five themes of geography with an explanation of how it relates. I am linking my photo with the theme of movement. I am linking to movement because movement is the sharing or bringing cultures from one place to another. The railway system helped bring resources from one place to another. Technically the resources we received was a form of culture so this is why I chose movement. (228 words)
