Terriers, back to back on the Wealden Pullman
On duty at the Cranbrook Road Level Crossing today, opening and shutting the gates as the trains passed up to Tenterden and down to Bodiam.
This shot is of our rather special Terrier locomotives with 32678 piloting 32670 behind on the up portion of the Sunday Lunch train, the Wealden Pullman. This is the train where the hard working crossing keeper is deftly passed some soup on the down journey and some roast potatoes on the up (about 3 seconds after this shot was taken a bag of spuds landed at my feet)
Other than opening and closing the gates to allow the passage of trains the day was spent in the usual leisurely pattern; coffee, tea, sandwiches, soup, apples, roast potatoes, catching up on blips, reading the paper, playing the ukulele where I can't disturb people and listening to the radio.
The extra is the return down working, with 32670 now piloting the train.
