Spire House
Yesterday I mentioned that around the village there are three follies dating from the 1780s. This is one of them, Spire House (for obvious reasons). The legend is that the 11th Duke built the spire on his tenants farm because of the tenants widely publicised belief that churches were unnecessary houses would suffice.
Not the best shot but that leaves it for me to do a better one in future :-) My usual Sunday long lie in, coupled with a visit to the studio and making dinner took up the rest of the day so little to write about.
