Photographic Poeticisms

Dawn Path

Looking to the path of dawning
It comes to me, without warning
A memory of a precious friend
With whom hours I would spend
Watching suns set and suns rise
Laughing in delightful suprise
As morning cloud broke to reveal
A sun whose rays would steal
Across a scene emptied by night
Awoken by that sudden sunlight
Shaking the sleep from its mind
Casting about for what it might find
And grinning, alights upon us two
Bringing smiles to upturned faces
As light with dark it replaces
Then settling with smile and sigh
We slept again, leg to thigh
In companionship of lovers close
Nestled in embraced warm pose
'TIll sounds of drear life filter
To knock shared dreams a-kilter
And rising in sun-filled room
Surrounded by aura of love's perfume
We descend to join public throng
Who smile, ignore us, play along
As if to share in our conspiricy
Thinking us in embarressed duplicity
Unknowing that the merriment rife
Was shared with my own dear wife
