I've Got A Ticket To Ryde

I never knew that Ryde on the Isle of Wight had its train station at the end of the Pier. It's a bit unnerving to start with, when you think of all that weight going over really old timbers supporting the track. Then you realise it's a good idea, as you can get straight onto the ferry, which is the Seacat, back to the mainland.

The train in itself is a novelty. It is an old electric London underground train from the 30's and runs every half hour from Shanklin to Ryde. On the way you can get off and if you so wish, jump onto a lovely old steam train, do a round trip on that stopping at some quaint 'Edwardian' stations and then get back onto the next electric train either back to Shanklin or on to Ryde Pierhead.

The main mono shot is taken standing in the open doorway of the train on Ryde station looking back at Ryde town. In my extra you can just make out in the top picture, the red train, and the other shots are inside it.
