Are We There Yet?

Call me jaded and apathetic, but it seems like the Olympics has been going on forever.

I was surprised to see only a handful of lacklustre Sydneysiders watching the games on the huge screen at Circular Quay. There was just as much interest in the conveniently located ping-pong and foozball tables as in the Olympic athletes. Passing strange, considering how obsessed most (but not all) Australians are by some form of sport.

Maybe everybody read the wonderful Stephen Fry's tweet:

Women's boxing! Another gold for TeamGB & Yorkshire. That county on its own is ahead of Australia in the medal table.

Let's face it, if you cared about sport, you might feel kind of embarrassed that Australia's been whupped by Yorkshire. Everybody was probably hiding their faces in the nearby pub.

It made me smile, though.
