Afternoon Gathering

I am always amazed at the variety and abundance of things that can be eaten from the farm/field/forest/brush (aka garden.) Whenever I am visiting one of my friend's hometowns, the beginning of the meal process usually involves going out to gather whatever foliage is going to be combined with eggs, meat, and/or just spices to make breakfast, lunch or dinner (they are all the same here.)

I would pass right by most of the plants they stop to gather. I am slowly learning, and can now identify some of them (although most of their names I still forget.) Usually we just pick the newest, tender tips of the plant, some that look like ferns, others resemble vines, flowers or coarse grass.
