Aluminum Pancake griddle

This is a half inch thick  aluminum griddle that my dad had cut out of a salvage ship.  It used to work well when my parents had a stove  with burner closer together.  It also worked well when we went camping.  In the '70's, I would let Girl Scouts used it but it always camp back burnt from too high of a fire so it went into storage until today.  I tried using it again on the newer stove but turned caddie corner
