It can often be confusing to get my brain into gear when jumping about between countries in discussions at work.

At the end of the day we had a long internal discussion as we're dealing with some tricky negotiations with a partnership in Liberia. This budget is undergoing innumerable edits as both parties try and reach some compromises with limited funds.

The success of so much conservation work (and most other types of work) hinges on diplomacy and interpersonal skills. If people think conservationists spend their lives measuring the girth of trees, they'd be wrong. We're 1000x more likely to be tinkering with a budget spreadsheet.
