Looked who dropped in!

This little chap must have got in through the French windows and couldn’t get through the gap in the other windows. He didn’t panic, though, and I had time to get a few shots. After we opened the window and he flew out, he alighted briefly on the phone lines, but I wasn’t quick enough to catch the brilliant colours he showed in the sunshine.
 
Back to reality today. The magical Olympic and Paralympic period is now over and it’s back to all the tasks left undone while we enjoyed the moment (and living with the tiredness and aching joints caused by walking miles at all the events and the time travelling to them). We’ve made new friends, sampled new and old Rio transport options, visited all the Olympic parks, if not all the individual stadia, and generally had a wonderful time. 

We're proud of the welcome Rio gave to the visitors, happy that it muddled through alright in the end and immensely impressed by the Paralympic and Olympic athletes. What a blast!
