Derelict
We are staying in Matera in Italy, right in the middle in a hotel in a 13th century rock church (where the wifi is soooo much quicker than at home!).
My blip shows a small section of the houses built into the rock that, in the 1950s and 60s saw the relocation of 30,000 people to newer buildings in the city - that's 50% of the population at the time. If the iPad allows I will add an extra of an inside shot. Edit - it did!
The city is a derelict Sunday paradise but mixed with some amazingly stylish renovations and many ordinary everyday dwellings.
