Ullapool

Lady Luck has bestowed upon this anniversary couple the gift of beautiful Indian summer weather on our journey north to Ullapool. The two bus journeys involved transported us seamlessly through countryside not yet autumnal. Only the shorn fields with golden bales of straw and a few trees with leaves turning russet indicated the turn of the season.

The downside of this is that we are hopelessly overdressed for the temperatures, but far be it from me to complain.
There is a bit more of a breeze than I might wish for here beside the sea, given the ferry crossing later this afternoon to Stornoway, however I will go lightly on the diet until I see how the crossing fares.

My fingers are crossed that Stornoway tomorrow comes up with similar temperatures. The last time we were there, the temperature was such that His Lordship was convinced he had frost bite in his extremities, rather like the brass monkey.
