Ship Spotting

Took a trip to Marchwood today and couldn’t resist calling by the slipway which is used by the local yacht club and a popular spot for anglers.
But of particular interest today was the presence of the cruise ship Britannia, berthed at the P&O cruise terminal in Southampton’s Western Docks.
From this side of the northern stretches of Southampton Water you gain a commanding view of cruise ships in port and walk a few yards and you can take in the city’s container terminal as well.

In a seafaring region, this foreshore provides an uncrowded  viewing point to go ship spotting. In the upper reaches of Southampton Water.
