McAree Brothers

McAree's shop is, or I should say, was a Stirling institution. Sadly, after trading here for 123 years, it is closing. Most of its trade is now on line though it has smaller shops in both Edinburgh and Falkirk. I'm not a knitter myself but people I know who are find the selection of wool and knitting accoutrements first class. It's such a shame as it's a big shop and its closure will add to the rather derelict look of Stirling's town centre.

The walkers left this morning bound for Strathblane and to pick up the West Highland Way.
