Rothesay Castle
A visit today, with two fellow blippers, to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.
The ruined Rothesay Castle has been described as 'one of the most remarkable in Scotland', for its long history dating back to the 13th century, and its unusual circular plan. A broad moat surrounds the castle.
In 1961 the castle was given to the state and is now in the care of Historic Scotland.
