Shoshone Falls, ID
We spent the night in Twin Falls, ID, and decided to check out this waterfall site. As you can see in my photo, the water level was way down so the waterfalls were not as dramatic as expected. But, the gorgeous rock colorations and shapes against the green waters of the Snake River more than made up for it. The falls are actually higher than Niagara Falls and at their peak, would cascade down all of these walls. From there, we traveled to Almo, ID to visit The City Of Rocks. These rock formation were used as trail markers for early emigrants on the California Trail wagon trains. Today they are a popular recreational area for rock climbers. We had a cloudy day so my photos do not show their full beauty but we really enjoyed hiking around the park.
