Red sandstone

Parts of the beach between Maryport and Maryport Golf Club are made up of red sandstone.

Many of the houses in Cumbria are made of red sandstone, as is Carlisle Cathedral.

The promenade is about 2 miles long...loved by walkers and cyclists.


When it is stormy weather, the waves come crashing over the promenade!!!
