Provence 5

Today we are in Viens, another medieval walled village, this time in high Provençal about half an hours drive from our base. I have been sitting painting in the Rue de la chat noir but haven't seen the cat so far. The streets of the old part are so narrow no cars are possible and the 15 the century buildings make it a cold place to sit although the shafts of sunlight are lovely to paint. Autumn has arrived here with piles of leaves in the streets although the afternoons have been warm and the mornings chilly. The extra is one of yesterday's efforts when we were in the olive groves.
