Emergency Blip

Woke up with a sore throat! I really don't fancy a cold right now. I hope I can fight it off.
Work was alright. Slowly getting on top of my backlog. New American boss will be arriving in Glasgow tomorrow afternoon, but he told me that I do not have to babysit him over the weekend, he has friends to catch up with and is also happy to get some peace over the weekend as he was travelling all week. So let's see. I will meet him in his hotel in the afternoon for a couple of hours.
We had lovely sunshine in the afternoon but I did not manage to stop working before 6 pm, but then made it out of the door. Once on the street my customer phoned for a catch up. He often phones me on his way home and we can chat in peace. He is Scottish and lives in Vienna and I get on really well with him. It was a good chat and it kept me busy all the way along the river past my tower blocks to the Tesco.
I did some shopping for dinner and made my way home with a really heavy bag. When I was walking up the hill to our house I was looking forward to a big mug of coffee, taking some flower pictures, sort my blip and relax until Neil comes home. I even considered to start cooking dinner.
Well, I dug in my pocket for my keys and thought something is wrong! And it was. In my rush I grabbed the Berlin keys and not the Glasgow keys! Doh!
So I had locked myself out properly. It was quarter to 8 and Neil had just texted that he was leaving work. He has an hour commute! Honestly, I was not happy. I had a heavy bag, craved a coffee and did have a plan for the next hour which was thoroughly spoilt :(.
I texted Neil about my misery but did not get a reply. I decided to dump my bag in front of the house and walked off again to the corner shop to get some tobacco and a plastic bag to carry my purse (very fashionable such a Londis plastic bag!). Then I thought, eh, let's go to the Waitrose in Byres Road and get a free coffee. If you have a My Waitrose card, you are entitled for a free coffee! Since I am usually never take the time to use that offer, I thought today is the right day to have this free coffee. I made my way down to the shop and DOH! they were cleaning the machine and no coffee was available. I started getting slightly more frustrated. I bought some butter put it in my lovely Londis handbag and went out again. Still no answer from Neil.
I then saw a Donut shop where they sold coffee and got one "to go". 2 pounds it cost and it was not good. I walked slowly back home and hoped that Neil will be arriving soon.
When I was close to the flat I saw him walking in the door and closing it in front of my nose. Arrgh!! At least he had taken my bag with him. I banged the door, but he was already up the stairs. He did let me in when he was in the flat and I could finally get home. Not really in the best mood though and no one to blame apart from myself - and Waitrose of course!
So plans have changed. No cooking, no flower shots!

Instead you will get the other side of the corner shop signpost as today's blip.

The Berlin keys are now safely tucked away so there will be no repetition.
I am glad that I left the house quite late. I do not want to imagine what had happened if I had gone out at 4 pm as planned ...... probably also with the wrong keys. So there is a silver lining :).
