FlowerFriday 23: What's in a Name?
Although these are sweet-enough flowers, they are not at all flashy and the plant is rather nondescript. They are native to North Central Florida and I grow them for two reasons. They are popular with the buzzers and I absolutely LOVE their name... Flyr's Nemesis (Birckellia cordifolia). It is a state-listed Endangered Species in the Aster family. This one is growing in rather dense shade in the back yard, but given more sunlight the flowers take on a beautiful pink hue.
Hey, it's Friday again...how'd that happen?
Wishing you all an Enjoyable and Safe Weekend! :)
