Provender Mill
Another lovely day spent in Faversham, walking the creeks and browsing the mainly derelict boats in Iron Wharf. There were more interesting boats moored up at Standard Quay, including a number of old Thames sailing barges, an artist's Belgian boat and a pirate ship complete with pirate and two adorable dogs.
My photo was taken from The Brents facing on to Provender Mill, a 19thC warehouse once used for storing animal feedstuffs and now an Italian restaurant with luxury flats on the upper floors. We had lunch there today, eating al fresco in the sunshine.
I love to be by water and boats - perhaps it's because I'm an islander.
Faversham is about 45 minutes by car from us and it's minutes away from the seaside resort of Whitstable, famous for its oysters.
It's officially autumn but it still feels like summer during the day. May it continue.
