Nursing the dog?
I love this as an expression of what you might feel if mum was nursing the dog instead of you!
We'd had a busy morning, starting with a trip to the local Aldi, which had a "baby event" on, and enabled a purchase of a baby monitor. Then we hemmed some curtains.
Now approaching the time for R and Robin to leave, but Alfie (the dog) stayed on with us. Complex arrangements mean that he will be collected by my younger daughter on Saturday, transported to Peterborough, from where R will pick him up after her weekend away at a hen do in Bristol. He's a lovely dog, but rather higher maintenance than Fido; being much younger, he doesn't quite understand the limits to his territory, and has had to be retrieved from next door on a number of occasions!
