Chilling on a cannon.
Another full day of people...beginning with my online cohort meeting....fortunately the internet didn't fail me and I stayed connected for almost all of the 2 hours! Then Joha and Isabel dropped by for a cup of tea, during which time the new family arrived! After J&I left we went round the Old Town with the guys, nattering about life here...then to THE café for a drink. It was an utter delight to see José & then Pampo...both so effusive about the baby!
Then home for dinner - kid friendly pasta with a tomato sauce...more chatting, and then a late depature to the airport for our new friends.
The sad news today is that another friend is leaving the island next month - life is just too hard and too expensive here... Feeling a bit gutted really... The Claytons having gone, and then next month 2 of our closest friends leaving... I wish they didn't have to go!
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Seeing José & Pampo...gave me such a lift.
2) Joha popping round unannounced...good to remember that I DO have local friends here...even if they are rapidly decreasing in number...
3) Dinner with the new family. Good to chat and relax together...and get a bit of a feel for what life together might look like.
