Once a Gas lamp
BB had to get up and do some cello practice, as he hadn’t met the weekly target! Once I had walked down the road with him, I headed off for a walk in the sunshine as it was such a lovely morning. When I got home I had some toast before I sorted out his camp things and did a few bits of admin, and searched for a letter about cub fees that I cannot find. I also hope that I have cured a problem I have been having with my camera. Time will tell.
Once BB was fed and watered, I made him help me pack his bag. He would much rather have been doing something else! I delivered him to the pick-up point and he got on the bus without even a cheerio! A group of cubs will now be at Lochgoilhead for a weekend of outdoor activities, and having just seen the weather forecast it looks like it will be wet.
The evening has been mine – peace perfect peace and the remote control!
A couple of years ago, BB had a homework task to look around our town to find examples of gas lighting. He didn’t want to do that task, and indeed he ended up choosing another task. However, I was fascinated by this challenge and to this day, I continue to spot evidence of gas lighting around town. Here is an example – a lovely piece of ironwork that was once a gas lamp.
