Survey

Young1 and I had a bit of a ride on the bikes this morning, we passed the river Ellen between Uldale and Ireby and we spotted these chaps from the Environment Agency who were doing a survey of the fish in the river.

They were electro stunning the fish, scooping them out of the river, counting and measuring them before returning them safe and sound to the water. They were concentrating on counting the trout, salmon and eels, it was amazing how many there actually were in the river.
