Making stuff
Friday -our day to pick up Fiona from school. (Going to record all the activity I can remember) ) Today we went to the Museum of History and Industry to see the exhibit TOYS from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. More fun for the adults I think who remember the GI Joes and the train sets and Barbies and Sesame St people and hot wheels and Tonka trucks and Lincoln logs etc. (did you know that Legos were older than Lincoln logs?) But Fi had a good time playing with the slinkys, hula hoops and the giant doll house. And a snack in their cafe.
Then on the way home she said we should make some faeries for here. Looking up some ideas, we found this pine cone faerie on Pinterest. I almost never do these sorts of crafts with directions and now I know why —too hard.. :-) But here’s one whose name I’ve already forgotten that is now placed outside.. Fiona also did a puzzle so she could draw her own picture on the back, made several of those cootie things with stickers we played endlessly and some “spider web” yarn woven things (sort of like the eyes of god) so we’ve got a start of halloween and she found balloons in the drawer so much blowing and shrieking as they whipped all over. And she made another faerie out of a juice box. (Edit..-also I almost forgot a treasure hunt with pictures for Boppa -the treasure was the faerie that wasn't finished yet) I’m not sure she’d ever tire. Pizza for dinner and on the way home non stop play with a small tin box turned in to phone/video where she is texting her online teacher her photo essays of lights and houses. Now I have joined that online school so I can see all the pictures. On fridays everyone turns in a lot. Boppa believed her! Now I’m tired.
