False Expectations

This is the kind of blip you end up with when counting on something to happen and it doesn't.  I usually shoot early in the day to bank some shots just in case nothing else presents itself before midnight.  Not this day...

All throughout the day, the sky was filled with lovely clouds.  Often when this happens I find that they completely disappear when it's time for the sun to set.  But I was sure  tonight would be different.  Well, I was.  Clouds were still in the western sky at sunset but amazingly, it did not result in stunning colors.  No color, in fact.

So...no banking of early photos and falling for the trap of assuming something would be there that wasn't. Oh,well...

I put up an extra of the tall cloud breaking away.  I do love clouds of any sort and enjoy watching them morph.
