Day 6
There were so many potential photos to choose from after our long 12 hour day travelling from Tallinn to Riga.  S managed a paddle on a sandy beach at Parnu which is regarded as among the best beaches in Estonia and then after crossing the border into Latvia we lunched beside a tranquil lake. Some enjoyable time was spent in beautiful countryside in the Sigulda National Park learning of the area's importance in the medieval times and visiting some castles and other historical places. There were some beautiful modern sculptures made of stone representing people and legends of Latvia and others made of recycled metal with faces made of stone representing the inhabitants of a castle.  The photo above was taken after climbing 244 steps up to the top of one of the towers at Turaida Castle.
