Built in obsolesence

My mobile is suffering from built in obsolesence.

Every time it connects to WiFi it gets forced updates to apps that I don't use that have used up all of its very limited memory. It then decides to shutdown when it receives a text, randomly calls someone or generally misbehaves until I uninstall the updates. Then it behaves itself until the next time.

Consequently, despite it having no other problems, a good battery etc., it needs replacing so that I can once again have a reliable phone.
